# Telegram

> Use Coco directly from Telegram — your AI assistant, wherever you chat.

Coco is available on Telegram, letting you manage reminders, lists, calendar events, and more without leaving the app.

<Warning>
  Sending reminders to friends and family is not supported on Telegram. This feature is only available on [WhatsApp](/platforms/whatsapp).
</Warning>

## Connecting Telegram

There are two ways to connect your Telegram account to Coco:

**Option 1 — From the Dashboard (recommended):**

1. Log in to your [Dashboard](https://app.textcoco.com)
2. In the left sidebar, find the **Message Coco** section and click the **Telegram** button
3. A dialog will appear with a unique linking code
4. Copy the code and send it to [@textcoco\_bot](https://t.me/textcoco_bot) on Telegram — or click **Open Telegram** in the dialog to have it pre-filled for you
5. Coco will confirm that your Telegram account is now linked

**Option 2 — Directly on Telegram:**

Search for **[@textcoco\_bot](https://t.me/textcoco_bot)** on Telegram, then follow the same steps above to get and send your linking code from the Dashboard.

<Note>
  Connecting Telegram requires a Google or Microsoft account to be linked for sign-in first. You can do this from **Settings → Account**.
</Note>

<Note>
  If you already have a Coco account via WhatsApp, your reminders, lists, and settings will all be shared — everything stays in sync across both platforms.
</Note>

## Setting Telegram as Your Default Platform

Your default platform is where Coco sends your reminders, daily briefings, and notifications. To change it:

1. Log in to your [Dashboard](https://app.textcoco.com)
2. Go to **Settings → Account**
3. Scroll to **Linked Accounts → Default Messaging Platform**
4. Select **Telegram** from the dropdown

<Tip>
  The default platform only controls where Coco proactively reaches out to you. You can still chat with Coco on both WhatsApp and Telegram regardless of which is set as default.
</Tip>

## Disconnecting Telegram

To unlink your Telegram account:

1. Log in to your [Dashboard](https://app.textcoco.com)
2. Go to **Settings → Account**
3. Scroll to **Linked Accounts → Telegram**
4. Click **Disconnect** and confirm

<Note>
  Disconnecting Telegram will not delete your reminders, lists, or any other data. Your account remains fully intact and accessible via WhatsApp or the Dashboard.
